Principal
Since founding P & L Research Inc., Lucy has provided strategic research and analysis to various industries including the telecommunications industry, new company start-ups, and non-profit organizations. Lucy provides exceptional insights into consumer research project design and total project management from questionnaire design through analysis and report writing. New product research for the telecommunications industry is an area of particular strength, along with customer satisfaction and customer switching behavior.
Prior to founding P & L Research Inc., Lucy spent over 17 years with Time Warner Cable in Consumer Research and Planning, with over 10 years as the head of the department. During that time she specialized in new product development, customer satisfaction, and database analyses for understanding consumer behavior. She also spent four years at Gates Rubber Company doing econometric modeling for sales forecasting prior to joining the cable TV industry.
Lucy has a BA in French from Colorado College and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Philip Jolas
Principal
In his time with P & L Research, Philip has provided
consulting on strategic marketing and research to
automotive, retail, construction, financial services,
and general business companies. He has assisted with idea
generation, new product launches, and the repositioning
of existing business. He has strong talents in the area
of qualitative research including conducting executive
interviews, and the design and moderation of both business-to-business
and business-to-consumer focus groups. He has used different
projective techniques to gain a deeper understanding of
product needs, purchase behavior, advertising copy, brand
imagery, etc.
Prior to his work at P & L Research, Philip spent
19 years with Gates Rubber Company, a $3 billion worldwide
supplier of automotive and industrial products. He held
positions in new product commercialization, market research,
strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. He went
to Gates from IBM where he was a very successful salesman
after starting his career as a field geologist. Philip
has been Adjunct Professor of Market Research at the
University of Colorado at Denver since 1999.
Philip has a BA in Geology and an MBA from the University
of Colorado, Boulder, CO.

Research Associate
Jack specializes in qualitative research for P & L Research, especially conducting B2B one-on-one interviewing. His interviewing skills are exceptional, and make respondents interested in providing full and detailed answers on a wide variety of topics.
Jack honed his skills with over 30 years of market research experience at Gates Rubber Company. He researched many different industries at Gates: automotive, tires, agricultural and food products, the construction and hardware markets, the lawn and garden industries, etc. His project experience includes examining the acceptability of current products, determining the relative strengths and penetration of competitive firms, assessing new product requirements and market acceptance, and catalog and advertisement testing.
Jack received a degree from the University of Iowa in geography with a minor in business.

Research Associate
In her work for P & L Research, Lisa has used her artistic skills to provide support for the company in presentations and the graphic display of data.
Lisa honed her commercial art skills as a newspaper artist
for the Gazette-Telegraph of Colorado Springs, and has
also been employed as a display artist for a large commercial
retailer. While spending six years working for the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder, Colorado,
Lisa used her artistic talents and computer graphics skills
to contribute to weather research activities.
Lisa received her multimedia technology training and certification from Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado as well as a B.A. in Art from Colorado College in Colorado Springs. She has also studied art in Italy and in England.
